We are proud to share that BOS received the 2024 Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI) Excellence and Innovation Forvis Mazars Award 

The award recognizes CBAI member banks that go above and beyond to demonstrate their commitment to their customers, employees, shareholders, and the community through innovative outreach programs. BOS received this award for our Keys to Home Ownership Closing Cost Credit Program.

About the BOS Keys to Home Ownership Program

Bank of Springfield's Keys to Homeownership program was started in 2022 to assist lower-income borrowers with the costs associated with a mortgage. The program offers a $1,000 closing cost credit for borrowers with income under 80% of the area median income where the property is located. The credit can be applied to one-time costs including appraisal and recording fees.

Borrowers are also offered financial counseling and resources, including budgeting and home maintenance. To date, 65 qualified borrowers have received assistance. The properties are located across all of the markets BOS serves.

Accepting the award is Gregory Marantz, Executive Vice President Finance and Risk Management, and Jennifer Marantz, Executive Vice President Director of Corporate Communications. BOS previously received the award in 2003 for a program to train all employees in rescue breathing and CPR and place defibrillators in bank branches.
